Help us support the U.S. Navy SEALs and their families by participating in the 2017 Birdies for the Brave Golf Tournament in Half Moon Bay. Proceeds from this event will be directed to the Navy SEAL Foundation.

As the frequent deployments continue the injuries mount and the stress on the families and operators grow, your support is vital and needed now more than ever to continue the programs and services of the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Honorary Event Chairman


Retired Rear Admiral Steve Oswald
Serving our nation for more than thirty years with both the U.S. Navy and NASA, Steve Oswald has had an accomplished career as naval aviator, test pilot, three-time Space Shuttle astronaut, and senior executive. Oswald is currently with Syzygy Enterprises, LLC, a provider of consulting services in the aerospace, defense, intelligence, and homeland security sectors. He is the brother of fallen Navy SEAL Commander Peter Oswald.

Medal of Honor Recipient

Michael Thornton

Retired Lieutenant Michael E. Thornton
Mike Thornton is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam. He saved the life of his critically wounded senior officer, Navy SEAL Lieutenant Thomas R. Norris, who also was awarded the Medal of Honor for unrelated action occurring six months earlier. It was the first time since the battle at the Citadel in Korea in 1871 that a Medal of Honor was awarded for saving the life of a Medal of Honor recipient.

Birdies for the Brave

Birdies for the Brave, a PGA TOUR Charities, Inc. program is a military outreach initiative supported by the PGA TOUR. Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with players , corporate partners, club members, fans, and tour employees to raise more than $13 million for charities that provide vital services and programs for military men and women and their families. Birdies for the Brave has grown to include a variety of military outreach efforts by the PGA TOUR.
